History read from a page tends to flatten into dates. History told aloud recovers something the textbook removes — that the people involved did not know how it would end, and were making decisions in the dark like anyone else.
A storyteller can hold uncertainty in their voice in a way a printed sentence cannot. That is most of the reason these stories are worth hearing rather than reading.
This is the smallest category on Storiyaa. What is here is recorded in Hindi and Spanish, so English-speaking listeners will find the shelf thin for now.
We would rather show you a short, real list than pad it. The stories that exist are worth your time, and more are added as creators publish them.
The boundary is blurrier than it looks. A ruler who genuinely existed acquires stories that certainly did not, and after a few centuries the two are difficult to separate.
